Dentures should be cleaned daily, with a gentle soft brush to remove any food debris and prevent permanent staining, as well as be soaked in a denture cleaning solution every night. You should clean the teeth, gum areas and the fitting areas of your denture on a daily basis. Unless instructed otherwise by your clinician, dentures should be removed while sleeping.
If your denture has a build up of plaque or over staining, it can be professionally cleaned through the use of industry equipment like ultrasonic cleaners designed to properly clean such appliances without causing damage. Your dental team is trained and experienced in cleaning your denture without damaging. If your denture has stubborn stains or build up do not attempt to clean it by yourself , instead bring it in for a professional clean.
